Nigerian midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, has rejoined Iraqi topflight division club, Newroz SC, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The former Akwa United midfielder joins from Uzbekistan side FC Qizilqum Zarafshon on deadline day signing a an 18 months deal with the club.
He becomes the second Nigerian at the club after Ibrahim Tomiwa.
Reacting to his move the former Flying Eagles international said he’s delighted rejoining the club and hopes to help Newroz qualify for the Asian Champions League.
“I’m very happy and pleased rejoining this great club, the people are loving and accommodating people,” Ifeanyi said.
“I really want to achieve a lot with them and one of them is helping the team qualify for the Asian championship league and win titles with them.”
Ifeanyi played for Nigerian Premier Football League side Akwa United and was part of the Promise Keepers side that secured the Federation Cup in 2017.
He also starred for the defunct MFM FC and was a prominent member of the Home Eagles B side that finished second at the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations and the African Nations Champions in January 2018.
