Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, will be aiming to score his 30th goal for Napoli when the Partenopei when they welcome Monza to Stadio Maradona in a Serie A clash on Sunday (today), PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Osimhen has also notched 10 assists in the 63 games he has played for the club since he arrived in 2020.

The 23-year-old was outstanding on matchday one for the Partenopei who thumped Hellas Verona 5-2 with the Super Eagles star getting on the score sheet and making an assist.

Napoli, however, will be banking on Nigerian to record their second win of the season

In his last 10 league games, Osimhen has been directly involved in 11 goals, with an impressive tally of eight goals and three assists to his name – re-establishing himself as the Azzurri’s top marksman.

The former Lille striker will hope to score his 30th goal for Napoli in the encounter. He has also notched 10 assists in the 63 games he has played for the club.

Meanwhile, Former Italian midfielder, Stefano Impallomeni, has warned Osimhen that he risks falling down the pecking order at Napoli.

The former AS Roma and Parma midfielder says the 23-year-old must improve playing with his back towards goal and his link-up play following the arrival of the attacking talents at the club.

“Free field for Spalletti. There are players under observation like (Victor) Osimhen, who he needs to improve with his back to the goal,” Impallomeni told TMW.

“Now there are also (Giovanni) Simeone and (Giacomo) Raspadori, two top strikers. Spalletti is now free to do what he wants. If Osimhen doesn’t wake up, he risks losing his place.”

Despite the fact that the deadline Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentis gave for any possible transfer of Osimhen has passed, Italian transfer market expert, Paolo Bargiggi has stated that French champions Paris Saint-Germain are not giving up on their chase for the striker.

PSG’s transfer director Luis Campos and club manager Christophe Galtier are big fans of Osimhen, having worked with the Super Eagles striker in Lille.

Campos brought Osimhen to France from Sporting Charleroi, and it was under the guidance of Galtier that the Nigerian ace netted 15 goals in 32 games for LOSC in his solitary season in France.
