Italian Serie A side, Atalanta, are exploring the possibility of signing Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis, following the departure of Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to Nottingham Forest News, the Nigerian striker could finally be on his way out of City Ground after United captured Hojlund.
Despite showing promise with his versatility of playing as a winger and centre forward, Dennis has been unable to settle at Forest, falling down the pecking order of Steve Cooper’s side in the EPL last season.
The Tricky Trees are also yet to name the price for the man they got for £20m from Watford last summer.
If he leaves the English club, Forest are going to be in short supply of strikers ahead of next season, leaving his compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi who was the club’s top-scorer in the league last season.
He will also unite with another countryman, Ademola Lookman, in Italy and might be able to draw courage from the man who significantly impacted Atalanta last season, netting 15 goals and providing eight assists in 33 appearances across Serie A and the Italian Cup.
Dennis has accumulated 62 appearances in the EPL, scoring 12 goals and contributing nine assists.
Despite not giving him regular playing time, Forest have been coy over the Nigerian’s future perhaps due to their shortage of strikers. With Atalanta reigniting their interest in him, Dennis will be delighted to seek regular football again.
