According to reports in England, LEICESTER City are close to signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Harry Winks, as they begin the 2023/24 season in the Championship.

The Foxes were relegated to the Championship following abysmal performance last season and they are now expected to lose several first-team players as a result.

Midfield ace Youri Tielemans has already left the King Power Stadium to join Aston Villa on a free transfer.
James Maddison is also expected to join Spurs in the coming days.

Super Eagles duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, who both have a year left on their contracts, are also expected to depart the club.

Ndidi’s departure could pose a great danger for Leicester and the club seem to have identified a replacement.
New Leicester boss Enzo Maresca, who was appointed earlier this month, has already drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements with Winks a top transfer target.

Maresca believes the midfielder has the ability and versatility to become a key part of his squad in the Championship.

Winks, 27, spent last season on loan at Sampdoria after falling out of favour at Tottenham.

The former England international has just one year remaining on his contract with the Lilywhites, but he is expected to leave as part of a major squad overhaul before the 2023-24 campaign kicks off.

Ndidi has been linked with a move to Celtic recently, but Football Scotland recently reported that the deal is unlikely to go through as the Hoops do not consider the Nigerian top priority.
