NWFL Super Six postponed indefinitely

Orgainsers of the Nigeria Women’s Football League on Tuesday confirmed that they have been directed to postpone the forthcoming Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership Super 6.

“The 2023 NWFL Premiership Super 6 postponed indefinitely,” the league body announced on its official Twitter handle.

The reason for the postponement was not mentioned in the statement.

The title playoff tournament was billed to take place in Asaba, Delta State between May 5 to 12.

The six participating clubs are Delta Queens, Rivers Angels, title holders Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, Robo Queens and Edo Queens.

Modupe Shabi, Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, confirmed the postponement in a statement issued on Tuesday, May 2.

She said the new date for the Super 6 competition will be decided after the upcoming maiden WAFU-B U20 Women’s Cup in Ghana, holding from May 20 to June 3 in Kumasi.

NWFL will communicate further updates on the Super Six in due course.
