• Six Nigerian forwards have scored a combined 100-goals in Europe’s top leagues this season

Jose Peseiro has quite a task keeping tabs on all the Nigerian talent overseas and that’s because there is a gang of Super Eagles strikers making an impression on foreign soil this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

A total of six Nigerian strikers have scored a combined total of 100 goals so far this season with a few games left to the end of the season.

Topping the list of Nigerian strikers with the most goals is Victor Osimhen who has scored 23 times in 28 games for Napoli who are closing in on the Serie A title for the first time since the days of Diego Maradona and have a concrete chance of securing glory on the European stage, setting up a thrilling end to the season.

The Partenopei emerged as one of the best and most exciting teams in Europe this campaign, flying to the top of the Serie A table with ease. The team have looked equally impressive in the Champions League and will face AC Milan in the quarter-finals.

Another player who has been outstanding this season is Victor Boniface who has been remarkable for Union Saints Gilliose since he arrived in the summer for €2m from Bodo/Glimt.

Since completing his move to Union Saints Gilliose Boniface has notched 12 goals and made six assists in 33 games for Union Saints Gilliose taking his tally to 19 in 41 games for both clubs.

Having scored five goals in the Europa League this season, Boniface is on the verge of equaling the number of goals scored by a player playing in Belgium in the competition.

The last player to score more for a Belgian club in a season in the competition was Lior Refaelov who scored six times for Club Brugge in the competition during the 2014/15 season.

Paul Onuachu who failed to find the back of the net for Southampton since his arrival in January had scored 17 times for Genk before his departure while Terem Moffi and Ademola Lookman have both scored 15 and 14 goals for OGC Nice and Atalanta respectively.

Fast rising star Gift Orban is not left out of the mix as the 20-year-old has bagged 12 goals in his first nine games for Gent in the Belgian Jupiler league.
